Update...

* glücklich weil, ich gedacht hätte der Frühling wäre schon hier: es ist hier wesentlich wichtiger, denn man bildet sich ein, der Winter in Schweden dauert megalänger als im restlichen Europa
* traurig weil, es wirklich nicht Frühling ist jetzt
* glücklich weil, die Zeit umgestellt wurde und es nun länger hell ist: was wichtig ist, um nicht depressiv im Schnee zu werden
* aufgeregt weil, ich am Mittwoch schon nach Russland abdüse! Bau, freu ich mich!
* extremst im Stress weil, ich natürlcih alles bis aufs letzte aufgehoben habe und ich nun zwei Hausübungen, eine Englisch Hausübung, und noch tausend andere Sachen VOR Mittwoch zu erledigen habe
* beunruhigt weil, mein Spiegel von der Wand gefallen ist, und ich keine Ahnung habe wie ich den nun wieder dort raufkriege (keine Angst, gebrochen is er net)
* absolut traurig weil, Cecilia (Italien) nächsten Freitag die Spielfläche verlässt.
* noch viel mehr traurig weil, ich mich am Mittwoch schon von ihr verabschieden muss...

Conclusio: Es stehen drei extrem harte Tage bevor...

* happy because, I thought spring has arrived which is extremely important here, since you think winter in Sweden is longer than in the rest of Europe
* sad because, you can not call THIS weather spring
* happy because, I am leaving for Russia on Wednesday! happy happy happy
* absolutely stressed out because, I have to do tons of work before the departure: school work, house work,...
* worried because, my mirror fell down the wall and I have no idea how I can put it up again (nono fortuantely it did not break into pieces!)
*totally sad because, Cecilia (Italy) is about to leave on Friday for sure.
* extremely sad because, I already have to "goodbye" here on Wednesday, which just makes me more and more sad...

Conclusion: Three very hard days are about to start...

So schön... schön ist die Zeit!

Gestern haben wir noch auf die Gleichberechtigung angestoßen. Dann noch darüber diskutiert, was denn das eigentlich soll, denn es ist doch ungerecht, wenn Frauen einen Tag haben und Männer nicht! Das ist doch nicht Gleichberechtigung!
ABER wir sind momentan in Schweden, wo die Frau eine Menge an elitären Rechten genießt! In den meisten anderen Ländern-auch in Europa- ist das noch lange nicht der Fall. Es geht bei diesem Tag um "Aufmerksamkeit"; ums darüber nachdenken, ums darüber diskutieren; denn wenn etwas mal ausgesprochen wird, das Tabu gebrochen wird, können auch Lösungen gefunden werden!
An alle, die meinen, Emanzentum ist (heutzutage) fehl am Platz, sollten sich mal darüber Gedanken machen wie Patriachat überhaupt rechtfertigbar sein kann... Es geht nicht um Kampf der Geschlechter (boys I really love you) sondern um Gegenseitigkeit auf gleicher Ebene!


Yesterday, we celebrated the "International´s Women´s Day" with a couple of nice girls and drinks. Then we started to discuss the reasons and roots for this day. Why is it, that womenhood does have a special day and all the men don´t? That´s not equality at all!
BUT, to consider the fact, we are right now in the middle of the swedish society, where equality is not only a saying, it is reality. But not so in many other countries in the world- even not in Europe! It´s all about "Awareness": talking about it, heavily discussing; as soon it´s on the table, the tabu is broken and we can search for solutions!
To all of you out there, who think emancipation goes way too far: think about one reasonable argumentation for patriarchy... It´s not about a battle between the sexes (boys I really love you), it´s about mutuality on the same level!

8. März- Internationaler Frauentag!

Was ist denn das überhaupt?

Der Internationale Frauentag (International Women's Day) wird weltweit von Frauenorganisationen am 8. März begangen. Die Idee dazu wurde am 27. August 1910 auf der Internationalen Sozialistischen Frauenkonferenz in Kopenhagen von der deutschen Frauenrechtlerin und Sozialistin Clara Zetkin ins Leben gerufen: Der 19. März wurde als Internationaler Sozialistischer Frauentag zum Kampftag für das Frauenwahlrecht bestimmt.
Zur Erklärung des Datums werden je nach Quelle verschiedene Ereignisse erwähnt, darunter eine Arbeiterinnendemonstration in St. Petersburg während der russischen Revolution 1917 (da galt noch der julianische Kalender, das russische Datum war der 23. Februar), die brutale Niederschlagung einer Demonstration New Yorker Textilarbeiterinnen im Jahr 1857 oder dem Brand in einer der Textilfabrik 1908, bei dem 129 Arbeiterinnen um's Leben kamen, die während eines Streikes von den Fabrikbesitzern dort eingeschlossen wurden[1].
1911 demonstrierten Frauen in Deutschland, Dänemark, Österreich, Schweden, der Schweiz und den USA für Gleichberechtigung. Seit 1921 wurde der Tag, der bis dahin am 19. März begangen worden war, auf den 8. März festgelegt.

The first IWD was held on 19 March 1911 in Germany, Austria, Denmark and further European countries. German women selected this date because in 1848 the Prussian king had promised the vote for women. Subsequently over one million leaflets calling for action on the right to vote were distributed throughout Germany before IWD in 1911. Now IWD is always celebrated on 8 March and is an occasion marked by women's groups around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday. Women in every country, often divided by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate this important date that represents equality, justice, peace and development.
International Women's Day is the story of ordinary women as makers of history; it is rooted in the centuries-old struggle of women seeking to participate equally in society on an equal footing with men. * Habe meine Arbeit (Active English) fertiggestellt (zumindest mal für ein paar Tage)
* Der Unikurs "The Future of the Welfare State- Die Zukunft des Wohlfahrtsstaates" ist beendet. Jetzt wart ich nur mehr auf meine Note.
* Der neue Uni Kurs "Mass Media in Sweden- Massenmedien in Schweden" beginnt schon mal recht interessant- entgegen meinen Erwartungen
* Für meinen laufenden English-UNI Kurs könnt nich nun auch mal was machen. Ist gut, dass ich mich für diesen entschieden habe, da ich gezwungen bin schönes Englisch zu sprechen und akademisches Level noch dazu.
* noch immer Schnee hier
* Heute ist die Vorbesprechung für Russland- ich bin schon so gespannt!
* und vieles andere noch mehr....

What´s up today?

Heute ist Abgabe für meine Arbeit zum Thema: Kinderbetreuungsgeld- eine konservative Wende in der Familienpolitik in Österreich? Ich bin ziemlich erledigt, denn wie immer hab ichs bis zum Schluss aufgehoben ;-) aber dafür ein Stückerl gscheiter *ggg*

Dann ist dann noch die Anna hier vom letzten Semester! Välkommen! Also geh ich mit der netten Kärtnerin und ein paar anderen Mädls zum Afterwork... mal sehen wohin uns das bringt! ;-) a la girl´s night die zweite???

Ausserdem wäre heute Abend da noch das Handeslpub... zwar bin ich ja kein Wirtschaftsstudent hier, dürfte jedoch mit der Tanja (Oberösterreich) mitgehen. Fakten: SEK80 Eintritt, SEK5 ein Getränk (ja wirklich!)

There is the final deadline for my paper today: maternal leave for all- a shift towards the conservative family policy in Austria? I am going to be quite exhausted- cause I did all the work in the last 3 days... again... I guess I need the pressure

Then there is nice Anna from the Austrian Bundesland Carinthia. She was here last semester! We are going to have Afterwork together- and who knows... maybe there will be another girl´s night??

And then - there would be the "handelspub". Which means SEK80 entrance and drinks for SEK5 (honestly!) I am allowed to go there, since Tanja (Upper Austria) put me on the guest list. We will see... Maybe I don´t wanna see certain people totally drunk (again) ;-)
